We write letters by hand and post them anywhere in India. These are the extras you can add to one - photographed as they really are, with what each costs, how we make it, and what it will not do.
मोम की मुहर & दबाया हुआ फूल
Real sealing wax, melted and poured by hand onto the flap of your envelope, then stamped with a brass seal while it is still soft. Not a sticker, not printed - the envelope genuinely has to be broken open. Add a real pressed flower and we set it into the wax as it cools, so it stays visible in the seal. The flower costs nothing extra.

- If you chose a flower, a pressed, dried bloom is laid into the wax in the seconds before it sets - never a fresh flower, which would rot in transit.
- पीतल की मुहर मोम में दबाकर तब तक रोकी जाती है जब तक वह जम न जाए।
- पोस्ट के लिए पैक करने से पहले लिफ़ाफ़े को पूरी तरह ठंडा होने दिया जाता है।
No two seals are identical. Small air bubbles, a slightly uneven edge, a little wax past the stamp - that is what hand-poured wax does, and it is not a defect. Wax is also brittle: on rare occasions a seal chips in transit. If yours arrives cracked, tell us and we will make it right.
क्या दबाए हुए फूल का अलग से शुल्क है?
No. It is included with the wax seal - tick the seal at checkout and the flower option appears underneath it. It cannot be ordered on its own, because there would be nothing holding it to the envelope.
क्या मैं फूल चुन सकता हूँ?
Not from a list - we use whatever is pressed and in good condition at the time, chosen to suit your envelope. They are small dried blooms and petals, not a bouquet.
क्या मोम का रंग मैं चुन सकता हूँ?
हम मोम का रंग आपके लिफ़ाफ़े के रंग से मिलाते हैं ताकि दोनों आपस में न टकराएँ। कोई ख़ास रंग चाहिए तो चेकआउट के एक-लाइन नोट में लिख दीजिए, या ऑर्डर के तुरंत बाद हमें ईमेल कीजिए — हम पूरी कोशिश करेंगे।
मुहर पर कौन-सा डिज़ाइन होता है?
A plain, classic motif - no LetterByPost branding anywhere on your envelope. We do not put our name on the outside of anything we post.
क्या डाकघर में इसे नुक़सान पहुँचेगा?
Sealed letters travel in a protective outer sleeve, so the wax is not rubbing against sorting machinery. This is why the seal - and the flower set into it - survives the journey in almost every case.
सुगंधित काग़ज़
The sheet is lightly misted with your chosen scent - Rose, Lavender or Jasmine - in the last moments before folding, so the scent is shut inside the envelope until it is opened.

- The sheet is misted lightly from a distance - never soaked, which would warp the paper and run the ink.

Be realistic about this one. It is subtle - noticeable when the envelope is opened and the paper is close to the face, not from across the room. It also fades over the days in transit, and a letter posted to a very hot or humid region will arrive fainter than one travelling a short distance.
कौन-सी ख़ुशबू चुनूँ?
गुलाब सबसे जानी-पहचानी और सुरक्षित पसंद है। लैवेंडर सबसे कोमल है और रोमांटिक से ज़्यादा सुकून देने वाली लगती है। चमेली तीनों में सबसे तेज़ है और सबसे लंबी टिकती है।
क्या साल भर बाद भी ख़ुशबू रहेगी?
नहीं। इसे खोलने के पल की चीज़ मानिए। पत्र दराज़ में रखा रहे, तो ख़ुशबू पत्र से बहुत पहले चली जाएगी।
अगर पाने वाले को एलर्जी हो तो?
तो इसे छोड़ दीजिए। छिड़काव हल्का होता है, पर जिसे ख़ुशबू से दिक़्क़त होती है, उसके साथ जोखिम लेने की कोई वजह नहीं।
सुतली या रिबन से बँधा
Your folded letter is tied - natural jute twine, or a satin ribbon - before it goes into the envelope. It has to be untied before it can be read, which puts a small pause between opening the envelope and starting the letter.
हम असल में क्या करते हैं
- पत्र मोड़ा जाता है, और फ़ोटो या P.S. कार्ड उसके साथ इकट्ठे किए जाते हैं।
- पूरा बंडल आपकी पसंद की सुतली या रिबन से बाँधकर एक बो से सजाया जाता है।
- वह बँधा हुआ ही लिफ़ाफ़े में जाता है, ताकि जैसा हमसे निकला, वैसा ही पहुँचे।
सुतली देसी और सादगी भरी लगती है; रिबन औपचारिक और उपहार जैसा। पत्र में प्रिंटेड फ़ोटो हों, तो बाँधना सबको एक बंडल में थामे रखता है — अक्सर यही तो चाहिए होता है।
रिबन किस रंग का होता है?
आपके लिफ़ाफ़े के रंग पर जँचने वाला चुना जाता है। सुतली प्राकृतिक जूट की अपने ही रंग में होती है और बदलती नहीं।
क्या बाँधना और मोम की मुहर, दोनों ले सकते हैं?
Yes, and they do different jobs - the tie is around the letter inside, the wax seal is on the envelope outside. Many of our nicest orders have both.
एक ख़ास नोट (P.S.)
One extra line, on its own small card, written by the same person in the same hand as your letter. The kind of thing you would say at the door on the way out - after the letter has already said everything it came to say.
हम असल में क्या करते हैं
- You type up to 120 characters at checkout - one line, deliberately.
- उसे आपका पत्र लिखने वाला ही एक अलग छोटे कार्ड पर हाथ से लिखता है।
- कार्ड पत्र के साथ रखा जाता है, ताकि वह पहले नहीं, बाद में मिले।
The 120-character limit is not a technical restriction - it is the whole idea. A note that runs to a paragraph is just more letter. The short ones land hardest: an inside joke, a single promise, one thing you could not fit into the main letter.
क्या यह पत्र वाली ही लिखावट में होता है?
Yes, for handwritten orders - the same writer does both, so it reads as one hand. For printed letters, the note card is set in the same type as the letter.
क्या नोट किसी और भाषा में हो सकता है?
Yes. English, Hindi or Hinglish, whatever suits the line - including a Hindi note on an English letter, which people do more often than you would expect.
प्रिंटेड फ़ोटो
Up to 3 of your own photos, printed on real photo paper at 2.3×3.5 inches or 3×3 inches, and tucked in beside the letter. One flat price for one, two or three - nothing digital, nothing that needs a screen.

- चेकआउट पर आप अधिकतम 3 फ़ोटो अपलोड करते हैं (प्रत्येक अधिकतम 5MB)।

प्रिंट की गुणवत्ता वही होगी जो आपके अपलोड की है। आधुनिक फ़ोन से खींची फ़ोटो इन आकारों में बेहद सुंदर छपती है; बहुत क्रॉप की हुई, धुंधली या स्क्रीनशॉट वाली तस्वीर उतनी ही धुंधली छपेगी जितनी आई थी। हम आपकी तस्वीरें एडिट या रीटच नहीं करते, और चुपचाप 'सुधारेंगे' भी नहीं।
क्या ₹100 प्रति फ़ोटो है या कुल ₹100?
कुल ₹100, चाहे आप एक फ़ोटो भेजें या तीन। प्रति फ़ोटो कोई अलग शुल्क नहीं है।
आकार ठीक-ठीक क्या हैं?
2.3×3.5 इंच (क्लासिक वॉलेट साइज़) या 3×3 इंच (चौकोर)। दोनों बिना मोड़े लिफ़ाफ़े में समा जाती हैं — यही दो आकार होने की वजह है।
मेरी तस्वीरें कौन देखता है?
सिर्फ़ वह इंसान जो आपका ऑर्डर प्रिंट और पैक करता है। वे आपके ऑर्डर नंबर के साथ निजी तौर पर रखी जाती हैं, किसी और काम में कभी नहीं आतीं, और डिलीवरी के बाद हटा दी जाती हैं।
क्या 3 से ज़्यादा भेज सकते हैं?
Three is the limit - beyond that the envelope stops being a letter and starts being a parcel, and it will not travel as well. Pick the three that matter.
पत्र शेड्यूल करें
Write it now, pick any date up to 6 months ahead, and we hold it. Your letter is produced and posted so it lands close to that date - not weeks early, sitting in a drawer, spoiling the surprise.

- आपका पत्र सही हफ़्ते तक बिना बनाए सँभालकर रखा जाता है।
- हम आपकी तारीख़ से पीछे की ओर हिसाब लगाकर उसे पहुँचने लायक़ समय रहते पोस्ट करते हैं।
- जब पत्र सच में निकलता है तब आपको ट्रैकिंग लिंक मिलता है, ताकि आपको कभी अंदाज़ा न लगाना पड़े।
भारत में कोई भी किसी ख़ास दिन डिलीवरी की गारंटी नहीं दे सकता, और हम ऐसा दिखावा नहीं करेंगे। हमारी कोशिश रहती है कि पत्र आपकी तारीख़ पर या उससे ठीक पहले पहुँचे — एक दिन पहले पहुँचना एक दिन देर से बेहतर है। जन्मदिन या सालगिरह के लिए वही तारीख़ चुनिए और उसी के आसपास की उम्मीद रखिए।
क्या ऑर्डर के बाद तारीख़ बदल सकती है?
हाँ, जब तक पत्र बनना शुरू नहीं हुआ। अपने ऑर्डर नंबर के साथ हमें ईमेल कीजिए, हम तारीख़ बदल देंगे।
क्या भेजे जाने से पहले पत्र बदल सकता हूँ?
Until it goes into production, yes - get in touch. Once it has been written by hand and sealed, it is on its way.
कितना आगे तक शेड्यूल कर सकता हूँ?
Six months. Beyond that, too much changes - addresses, relationships, minds - and we would rather you wrote it closer to the time.

पत्र की अपनी क़ीमत क्या है?
A printed letter is ₹699 and a handwritten one is ₹1199, delivered anywhere in India. Everything on this page is optional and adds to that - a handwritten letter with a wax seal, for instance, is ₹1299.
क्या ऐड-ऑन की कीमतों में GST शामिल है?
Yes. Every price on this page and at checkout is GST-inclusive - the figure you see is the figure you pay. Your tax invoice shows the split.
क्या कई ऐड-ऑन एक साथ ले सकता हूँ?
Yes, any combination, and they are priced simply - each one adds its own amount to your total. The only pairing rule is that the pressed flower needs the wax seal to hold it.
क्या ऐड-ऑन प्रिंटेड और हस्तलिखित, दोनों पत्रों पर मिलते हैं?
Yes, all of them, on either style. The only difference is the extra note card, which is handwritten on handwritten orders and typeset on printed ones - to match the letter it accompanies.
क्या लिफ़ाफ़े पर कहीं LetterByPost लिखा होता है?
No. The front of the envelope carries the address and nothing else - no branding, no logo, no hint of what is inside. That holds whatever add-ons you choose.
क्या ऐड-ऑन से मेरा पत्र देर से जाएगा?
नहीं। यहाँ की हर चीज़ सामान्य प्रोडक्शन का हिस्सा है, एक दिन के भीतर होती है, और फिर पत्र पोस्ट हो जाता है। समय सिर्फ़ शेड्यूल्ड डिलीवरी बदलती है — और वह भी इसलिए कि आपने कहा।

Tell us with your order number and we will make it right. Wax can chip and post can be rough - that is our problem to solve, not yours to absorb.
क्या यहाँ न लिखी कोई चीज़ जोड़ सकता हूँ?
Ask. We post letters, not parcels, so anything that turns the envelope into a package is out - but if it is flat, light and reasonable, we will tell you honestly whether we can do it.
