Choose a printed or handwritten letter, write your message, add the recipient's address and pay. We write it, seal it and post it. You don't need an account, and neither does the person receiving it.

A printed letter is your words printed on premium paper in a handwriting-style font, for Rs 799. A handwritten letter is written out by hand by a real person, pen on paper, for Rs 1299. Both are sealed in an envelope and posted.

About five sheets, which is roughly 600 words handwritten or up to 1250 words printed. That is enough for most messages.

Yes. Letters can be written in English or Hindi, and Hindi letters are written in Devanagari script.

That is the most common thing people tell us. There is a writing helper and example letters built into the order page, and you can start from one and change it until it sounds like you.

Yes, for Rs 100. Important: the date you choose is the date we POST the letter, not the date it arrives. Delivery takes 5 to 7 working days after that, so count backwards from the day you want it to land.

Yes, and people do. Some write to their future self, some just want something real in their own handwriting to keep.

Premium paper as standard, with a heavier premium stock available for Rs 100. Everything is sealed in an envelope, so only the recipient reads it.

Yes, a real wax seal pressed by hand for Rs 100. A pressed flower is included with it.

Up to three photo prints can travel with your letter for Rs 100. Send them at checkout and we print and tuck them in.

Scented paper for Rs 50, a twine or ribbon tie for Rs 50, and a separate P.S. card for Rs 100. Everything is optional and shown with its price before you pay.

A real person in India, one letter at a time. Nobody keeps a copy and the contents are never shared.

Only as far as writing or printing it requires. Your letter is not stored for any other purpose, not shared, and not used for anything else. The envelope is sealed before it leaves us.

No. We write what you wrote. It is your letter, and a small imperfection is often the part that makes it yours.

We post within 48 business hours of your order, and delivery across India usually takes 5 to 7 working days after that.

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Once the letter is with the courier the timing is theirs. We can only promise the day we post it. If you need it by a date, order at least 7 working days ahead.

No. Everything is made to order by hand, so the 48-hour dispatch is already the fastest we go.

You get the courier name and a tracking number by WhatsApp and email as soon as it is posted. You can also check any time at letterbypost.com/track with your order number.

Across India, subject to the courier being able to serve the recipient's PIN code. We check that before taking payment.

Not at the moment. We deliver within India only.

The courier usually tries again, and may call first. Delivery attempts are handled by the courier and vary by location.

It comes back to us, and we will tell you and sort it out with you. Reply to our WhatsApp message or write to us and a person will pick it up.

No. Postage is included in every price. There is no delivery charge and there never has been.

No. Letters are made to order after payment, so payment comes first.

Yes, an invoice with your order and payment details is provided for every order.

Yes. A gift voucher can be bought for any amount between Rs 999 and Rs 4999, and the person you give it to writes their own letter with it.

One year from the date it is bought.

The balance stays on the voucher and can be used on a later order.

Once an order is placed we usually cannot change it, because we start preparing it straight away. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and we will check whether it can still be stopped.

If it has not been dispatched yet, contact us immediately and we will check. Once it has been dispatched we cannot cancel it, because the letter physically exists and is with the courier.

Tell us as fast as you can with your order number. Before dispatch there is often something we can do. After dispatch the parcel is with the courier and the options are limited.

Write to us and a person will look at it properly. We would rather hear about it than not.

Refunds are handled by a person, case by case - not by an automatic rule and never by a bot. Contact us with your order number and what went wrong, and someone will go through it with you.
