Why send a letter
Flips the script
Everyone else's wishes are already forgotten. Yours arrives when the birthday glow has faded — and revives it.
An apology that works
'Sorry I'm late' means more when it took effort to say. A letter is the difference between excuse and amends.
No deadline pressure
The birthday passed; the rush is over. Take your time and write something genuinely good.

Yes, I missed it. Yes, I'm ashamed. But consider: everyone who wished you on time sent a text, and I sent an actual letter through actual post. Belated happy birthday — I chose dramatic over punctual.
I remembered your birthday at 11:40 pm and panicked. Instead of a rushed midnight text, I decided you deserved real words a few days late. Happy belated birthday — the wishes were on time in my heart, I promise.
I missed your birthday and I hate that I did. You matter too much for a shrug and a sorry, so here's a letter — the long-form apology, with interest. Belated happy birthday. Next year I'll be embarrassingly early.

Questions, answered
How late is too late for a belated birthday letter?
There is no expiry on being thought of. A week or a month later, the letter reframes the delay as effort rather than neglect — after that, lean into the lateness and make it part of the joke.
How fast can a belated birthday letter reach them?
We produce your letter and dispatch it by post — typically 3–6 days across India. If you want it to land on a particular day, choose Scheduled delivery and pick the date.
Belated birthday letter — what to write?
Own the miss in the first line without over-explaining, then spend the rest of the letter on them. The apology is the shortest part; the reason it works is that you wrote a whole letter rather than sending a line.
How do I apologise for forgetting someone’s birthday?
Do not offer a defence — reasons read as excuses. Say you missed it, say it matters to you that they know you were not indifferent, and then say the things you would have said on the day.
Is a belated letter better than a late text?
By a distance. A late text is a footnote to a day that is already over; a letter arriving days later restarts the occasion and is the only wish still in the house a year on.
What if I missed a milestone birthday like a 50th or 60th?
Bigger miss, better opportunity — the wishes have all faded by the time your letter arrives, so it gets read carefully rather than in a pile. Write the full tribute you would have given on the day.
Can I make a belated letter funny?
Humour is usually the right register, as long as the sincere part is genuinely sincere. Joking about your own lateness works; joking about how much they mind does not.
Can I add something to make up for being late?
A wax seal is ₹99, scented paper ₹49, twine or ribbon ₹49, and “The P.S.” — one extra line on a separate small card in the same handwriting — is ₹99. Up to 3 printed photos can also go in.
