Send Dada-Dadi the One Diwali Message They Can Actually Hold
Your grandparents are on the family WhatsApp group and they are not enjoying it. They come from the letter-writing generation - the one that waited for the postman. Send Diwali wishes in the medium that was theirs first.

Why send a letter
Their native medium
They courted and kept in touch by post, and stored letters in trunks. Yours joins a lifelong collection rather than a notification list.
No squinting at a screen
Large clear writing on real paper - no forwarded videos that won't load, no font too small, no help needed from anybody.
Don't save it for later
The letter you mean to write to your grandparents one day is worth far more sent this Diwali.

Dada-Dadi, happy Diwali. I'm old enough now to realise how much of what I like about festivals I learnt in your house - the smell of the puja room, Dadi's ladoos, Dada explaining the same story every single year. Please keep explaining it. I'm listening more carefully these days.
Dadi, this Diwali I am thinking about your kitchen more than anything else - you standing over the kadhai refusing help, and the whole house smelling of it. Nothing I buy tastes like that. Happy Diwali. I'll call, but I wanted something you could keep.
Nana-Nani, wishing you both a bright, easy, healthy Diwali. You have given this family more good years than it deserves. Thank you for all of them.

What is a good Diwali gift for grandparents?
Something they can hold and re-read - a handwritten letter (699) on 100gsm cream paper, posted to their door. Their generation kept letters in trunks; yours joins that collection.
Will the letter reach before Diwali?
We produce your letter within a day and send it by tracked post - typically 3-6 days anywhere in India. Order about a week before the festival to be comfortable. Post volumes climb steeply in the fortnight before Diwali, so earlier is genuinely better for this one.
Can the Diwali letter be written in Hindi for my grandparents?
Yes - Hindi, English, or the Hinglish your family speaks, and we produce it in large, clearly formed lettering that is easy on older eyes.
Can the handwriting be made larger for weak eyesight?
Yes - say so in your order notes and we write larger, with generous spacing between the lines, so no glasses hunt is required.
What should a grandchild write to grandparents at Diwali?
Tell them something specific their house gave you - a festival memory, a story they always tell, a habit of theirs you have caught yourself repeating. They have never heard it from you in writing.
Can all the grandchildren sign one Diwali letter together?
Yes - send us the text and every name you want at the bottom, and it arrives as one letter from the whole lot of you. These tend to be kept permanently.
Can you send sweets or a gift along with the letter?
No - we produce and post letters, not parcels, so mithai and gifts travel separately. Most people send the box by courier and the letter through us, timed to land in the same few days. They arriving apart actually helps: the sweets are the custom, the letter is the part nobody expects.
I don't know what to write. Can you help?
Start from the samples on this page, or use our free writing assistant to shape a draft in your own voice. You approve every word before it is written out and posted - nothing goes in the envelope that doesn't sound like you.
Can I make it feel more festive?
Add a wax seal or scented paper, and up to 10 printed photos (50 each) - a photo of the family at last year's Diwali is the enclosure that gets the biggest reaction.
